This was a very well done site by Democracy Now. This organization has numerous pages and videos to report on historic events and people. This page was focused on A. Philp Randolph and the Pullman Porters. This site mainly focused on A.Philp Randolph and how he organized the BSCP, Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters. This site was interesting because an hour long video was made from excerpts form a book called, Rising from the Rails: The Story of the Pullman Porter.

The video also had a written out dialog of what was said in the video. One could listen to the video and read along with what was being said. The video had speakers who were experts on the civil rights movement, and even some surviving Pullman Porters. I thought this was very fascinating to listen to some of the people who were actually there, being apart of history and the movement. Over all this site seems very creditable. It is ran by an organization that is dedicated to preserving history. Although, there might be some bias in it because it is an independent media source. Even though they are not affiliated with a large media group, they are a media group non the less. So they do have a small obligation in obtaining viewers and could have some media bias. I was not able to see anything that stood out, but I just wanted to warn the readers. Also I was not able to find out exactly who ran the website. I was only able to find the contact information of those in Democracy Now.

This was a great site that helps continue A. Philip Randolph’s legacy. This site is ran by the APRI, the A. Philip Randolph’s Institute. This site has a well-written Essay about his accomplishments and his struggles. It mainly focuses on the work that he has done. It does not go into his personal life too much, however. It describes the labor unions that he organized and used to fight for civil rights. The site is also a continuing effort for civil rights. It keeps posts of the things that other Chapters are doing and what is happening to them. One can even sign up and blog about these events.

Additionally this site seems really creditable. It’s ran by the APRI institute which is an organization that is dedicated to carrying on the fight for civil rights and Randolph’s legacy. Also, all of the contact information for the staff is on the website, this includes the president as well. It even has links to other APRI chapters that have their own website. The only draw back to this site is that there are not a lot of pictures. I still believe this is a good site however. This is because its content is really good. It also has a lot of information about Randolph and the organization as well.

This is another great website based on A. Philip Randolph. This website basically separates Randolph’s work into three separate categories, which are a civil rights leader, trade union leader, and a crusader for justice. As a civil rights leader it explains how he called for a mass action civil rights movement. To accomplish this he formed the March on Washington Movement . As a trade union leader the site explains how he continuously argued with other labor union leaders to allow African Americans to join. As a crusader for justice, the site discusses his journal, The Messenger, that he was the editor for. This site also had images of some of the flyers and brochures that he used.

Overall, this was a great site. It had a lot of content and good images. The site was also well organized. Each category had a small time line listed. You could click on the events and see a picture related to the event. The site also seemed really creditable. It is ran by the National Labor College and has a link to their home site. Also, there is a bibliography page that shows the sources they used to get their information from.. I also thought the flyers and broachers were fascinating. It was interesting to see an actual flyer that was put up to spread awareness of his cause

This site was very good, but brief. This site is credible because it is put up by the California State Railroad Museum. This is an organization that preserves and teaches railroad history. A. Philip Randolph is important to this history because of his work with creating the BSCP. This was an African American Union of Pullman Porters. I also like how this site discusses what the Pullman Porters were. The site discuses some details behind the Pullman company as well.

This site was full of good information and it comes from a reliable sources. Even so, the site really only lists the Museums contact information. It does not specifically say who runs the website or how to contact anyone who does. But, since the site is put up by a Museum the information is most likely reliable, I would have preferred that they would divulge more details on who is running the site though.

This is probably my favorite site. This is because it is a site that is ran by PBS and it has a lot of interesting information on A. Philip Randolph. It’s basically a site that describes all of the historical figures that appear in the film Look for Me in The Worldwind, by Marcus Garevy. There is a section, however, that is dedicated to A. Philip Randolph. This site gives a good over view of Randolph’s accomplishments, but it also goes into great detail. Within the writings of the main page there are links that will take you to other pages that describe what the previous page was mentioning. I really liked this feature because the main page mentions some things that I have never herd about before. Such as the “Garvey must go” Campaign.

This site also had a picture gallery that contained numerous pictures of things pertaining to the Universal Negro Improvement Association. These pictures had small captions, but they also had links to pages that were full of information about the subject. It's also important to note that Randolph actually did not approve of many of the things that Garvey did, such as the Universal Negro Improvement Association. However, this site does not seemed to be biased. This is because it is made by PBS and does not seemed to offer a favoring view of either Randolph or Garvey.
